About Us :

We are a surveying company that has deep roots in the community.  As with any small business, we learned quickly that the primary keys for success are the utilization of the latest technology, experienced personnel and community involvement. During the past several years, our profession has seen tremendous technological enhancements. We have made it a practice to adapt and use any new equipment and to develop procedures to make us more proficient. This effort has made it possible for us to work on projects all over the state at lower costs to the customer.

 

It is the policy of Green Forest Surveys to encourage our employees to activate participate in civic and professional organizations.  Our community involvement includes membership and participation in civic and nonprofit organizations which include but are not limited to domestic violence prevention organizations, Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis International, Chambers of Commerce and The First Tee.  In addition you will see our ads in support of local youth organization programs and publications.  Our employees serve on several local government and academic advisory boards.

  Cynthia A. Berselli, is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Green Forest Surveys, LLC.  Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Old Dominion University and will complete her Master of Science studies at James Madison University in the spring of 2012.  Ms Berselli is a blood member of the Monacan Indian Nation.  She has been associated with Green Forest Surveys since 1998.  Cindy has actively participated in the activities of the Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).  She is a member of several civic organizations (Kiwanis, etc.), serves as a volunteer with the local domestic violence prevention organization and contributes generously of her time to Habitat for Humanity.  Ms Berselli is the majority shareholder in Green Forest Surveys, LLC.

   Steven P. Douty, L.S., has been in the surveying business since 1968 .and has been licenses as a land surveyor in the States of Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. He holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering, is trained as a mediator and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist. Mr. Douty is a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).  He is a member and past state president of the Virginia Association of Surveyors, is a founder and charter member of the Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems. Mr. Douty is a frequent lecturer on land surveying topics.  He provides continuing education lectures and seminars for the Professional Surveying Societies of North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia.

 

Steve is presently Chief Operating Officer for the Buena Vista, Virginia office of Green Forest Surveys, and responsible for the corporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, expert witness coordination, mediation services and corporate marketing.

  Chris J. Pappas, L.S., is a licensed land surveyor in the States of Virginia and New Mexico. He holds a B.S. degree in Surveying from New Mexico State University and has been in the surveying business since 1992.  Mr. Pappas is a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and of the Virginia Association of Surveyors.
He is presently Chief Operating Officer for the Blacksburg, office of Green Forest Surveys, and is GPS coordinator and implements company wide CADD standards.
